Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1 brown onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 400g tomato canned diced
  • 2 cup beef broth (liquid)
  • 300 g spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup * finely grated parmesan to serve
  • 1/2 cup * to serve fresh basil leaves removed

Meatballs

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1 grated onion brown
  • 1 peeled grated carrot
  • 1/4 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup multigrain fresh breadcrumbs
  • 125g diced feta
  • 1 egg He slammed

Method

  • STEP 1 Making meatballs by combining mince, onion, carrot, parsley, breadcrumbs, feta, egg and salt and pepper in a bowl. Mix well.
  • STEP 2 Using clean hands, roll heaping tablespoons of mixture into balls. Put the flour in a large dish. Season with salt and pepper. meatballs in the flour to coat.
  • STEP 3 Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook meatballs, in batches, for 2 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
  • Step 4 Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil in a clean pan and heat over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes or until the onion is soft.
  • STEP 5 Add the tomato paste and cook, stirring for 1 minute.
  • STEP 6 Add the tomatoes and stock to pan. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium-low heat and simmer until the sauce thickens a bit ', 15-20 minutes.
  • STEP 7 Add the meatballs to pan. Spoon sauce over them to coat. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through.
  • STEP 8 Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in a large saucepan of boiling, salted water according to package instructions. Drain.
  • Step 9 warm bowls, then spoon in organizing the spaghetti meatballs and sauce. TOP with Parmesan and basil leaves.

Notes

I always use the Feta Australian and the deli Woolworths (I find it a more delicate flavor), and liquid Campbells stock for the sauce, bouillon cubes do not think would give the depth of flavor. With very low heat can cook the meatballs in the sauce for about 60 minutes. Serve with a salad and garlic bread.
