Ingredients

  • 3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon food coloring in
  • gel

Method

  • STEP 1 Pour the sugar, vinegar and water in a pot.
  • STEP 2 Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves.
  • STEP 3 Add food coloring.
  • Step 4 Increase heat and boil rapidly without stirring for about 13 minutes. Candy test for readiness. Toffee should be a golden brown.
  • STEP 5 Before you remove from heat, allow bubbles to disappear.
  • Step 6 patty tins Line with paper cases.
  • STEP 7 Pour the caramel into jars.
  • STEP 8 Allows you to set for about 1 hour.

Notes

You can add decorations on top. Toffee is chewy if not cooked according to instructions.
